Burton T. Fried

Burt Fried joined LVI Services Inc. in 1986 and became chairman in July 2006. Prior to that, he served as president and chief executive officer of the parent company since 1989. Under his leadership, LVI has become the nation’s largest remediation and facility services firm, specializing in asbestos abatement, mold remediation, demolition and disaster/emergency response.
Fried has been the driving force behind LVI’s rapid growth, guiding the company through key acquisitions and, most recently, a major capital restructuring that has positioned it well for future growth.
As chairman, Fried is active in supporting the company’s growth in its current markets, the acquisition of complementary businesses and its expansion into new geographic areas. Over the years, Fried has played a major role in expanding the company’s geographic scope and integrated service offerings at its more than 30 offices.
Prior to joining LVI, Fried served as executive vice president and general counsel of a diversified privately held corporation that manufactured a variety of products, including pleasure boats, apparel, shoes, and disposable dishware, and as general counsel at a developer of nursing home operations and health spas.
Fried is the author of numerous articles on environmental remediation and the asbestos abatement industry. He earned a bachelor of science degree from New York University and a bachelor of laws degree from Brooklyn Law School.
